What’s the only thing better than doing good in the world? Having fun doing it! Here are some fun ways you and your family can have some fun supporting Fair Trade.

  1. Pajama Party Movie Night

Ok, I might be boring – but a pajama party is my idea of fun! But seriously, how much fun is it just to get comfy, make some popcorn, and watch a great movie?!

First, cozy up! I like these Pact Jogger Pants and Longline Pullover Hoodie (for the gents, I recommend this line from Outerknown).

Next, pop a bowl of your favorite organic popcorn, and drizzle Nutiva Organic Buttery Coconut Oil on for a delicious treat. (Or check out this amazing Soft Chocolate Popcorn Bark recipe.)

Don’t wanna cook? Reach for (my favorite!) Three Twins Ice Cream. Add some Alter Eco Fair Trade Certified Chocolate for a darn good milkshake.

Next, check out the short films Fairtrade Matters and Fair Trade: The First Step – both are around 15 minutes long. The former follows two farmers to view the impact of fair trade. The second, produced by Patagonia, examines the garment industry and explores why Fair Trade Certified clothing is important.

And if those films inspire you, consider hosting a PJ discussion group with friends and family. Who says you can’t initiate social change while wearing pajamas!

  1. Play Fair

My fellow grownups: when’s the last time you just went outside and kicked a ball around? (I definitely don’t remember!) Check out Senda’s line of Fair Trade Certified soccer balls.

Here’s why I think this is really important. When I think of soccer, I think of children playing and enjoying themselves. Fair Trade guarantees no child labor. Do you see where I’m going with this?

And here’s your rare opportunity to become a local hero. Consider buying a couple and donating them to organizations near you that work with kids. It’s a great opportunity to support your community, and also a great way to open up conversations around fair trade. (You’ll be my hero, too!)

  1. Fair Trade Craft Time

This one is really only limited by your imagination… and here’s an idea!

  • Thank you for sharing these wonderful, and new for me, brands. Love the sugar scrub recipe (my choice for essential oil is rose & lavender) and the Alter Eco chocolates sound delicious! Before purchasing something, I always try to research more about the brand, the story behind it, where and how they source their ingredients…knowledge is power and often, small decisions can make a difference.
