When it comes to Badger art, the more the better, don’t you think?
We certainly do. Of course, we might be a little biased!
We love our custom Badger art so much that it doesn’t just adorn the tins, sticks, and bottles that contain our fabulous products. Badger art also decorates our workspaces, cars, clothing, and of course our annual calendar. Scroll down to enter our calendar giveaway!
Our 2015 calendar featured beautiful botanical images, whimsical Navigator travel stamps, and information on our “fresh, whole botanicals, brimming with life force.”
For our 2016 calendar, the theme is art. The back cover features a beautiful drawing by Badger Bill, as well as a special message. And each month features a full page of our most beloved Badger art; twelve colorful, custom made illustrations to keep you company all year long.
In addition to the talented artists who create these images, we have an amazing graphic designer named Robin who weaves together images, text, and numbers to create an eye-pleasing layout.
Almost all the Badger graphics you see are created by her, including product packaging, catalogs, and brochures. Needless to say, she’s a busy lady.
Robin took a moment out of her busy schedule to tell us which three images from our new calendar are her favorite, and why she loves them so much. Here’s your calendar sneak peek!
“Badger by the River” (April 2016. Art by Ginny Joyner)
Robin says: “I love the woods and streams. This Badger looks so relaxed and happy just chillin’ with his feet in the water. A place I would want to be.”
Badger by the River art appears on our Stress Soother stick, and with good reason. Stress Soother was formulated to help you rise to the occasion. So as you use your Stress Soother, you can contemplate this art and imagine the clarity of mind that would come from sitting with your feet in a cooling river, deeply breathing in the forest air while communing with a frog. Hard to feel stressed when you’re surrounded by nature!
“Apothecary Badger” (March 2016. Art by Ginny Joyner)
Robin says: “I love the colors and all the details Ginny included in this painting.”
Ginny is a true master of the magical details that make an illustration extra special. Here, the Badger image is zoomed in closer to so you really see the wonder and passion in his eyes. While this illustration doesn’t appear on any of our packaging, we use it regularly as a visual representation of the love we put into formulating our products.
“Aloe Badger” (July 2016. Art by Kate Beetle)
Robin says: “I love it because this Badger seems blissfully serene… there’s something soothing about it.”
Aloe Badger represents how we feel while lovingly harvesting ingredients from our own garden. And while we don’t personally harvest the ingredients we use in our products, this image represents the process we go through in choosing the best ingredients. Ingredients that are grown, harvested, and processed with loving intention and care.
You’ll see this serene Badger on our forthcoming unscented sunscreen lotions… more information soon, so stay tuned!
Walk a healthy trail with beautiful Badger art all year long!

Love the River Badger! I also love the Lip Balm postcard I received in one of my orders with the “Magic Badger” in a flowered field with a waterfall in the background waving his magical wand for “A little magic for your lips”. That’s a great one! If I had to pick a favorite piece of Badger Art, though, it would be the “Look Far” drawing done by Bill’s daughter when she was seventeen. Such color and depth – looks like chalk pastel? Beautiful job!
