Introducing Badger’s organic Tattoo Balm + Giveaway!

Tattoo Balm Art
Behind every tattoo, there’s a story waiting to be told.

Over the centuries, tattoos have been used to share the stories of cultural tradition, physical endurance, individuality, and beauty. While their acceptance has ebbed and flowed in 20th century American culture, tattoos have recently seen a resurgence in popularity with people of all ages. In fact, in 2016, 3 in 10 adults had at least one tattoo, up from 2 in 10 adults in 2012. Additionally, nearly half of millennials have at least one tattoo. (No, I am not one of those millennials with ink…yet!)

That’s why we’re excited to introduce our latest creation: Tattoo Balm!

No frills and no fuss, this organic moisturizer was formulated for use on new or existing tattoos (or any parched or sensitive skin for that matter). Imagine caring for your ink with only certified organic and fair trade ingredients: you can rest easy knowing that this soothing moisturizer is not only safe for your skin but is also safe for the people and planet that helped to make it. Since it is a balm, a little bit of this concentrated moisturizer will go a long way!

What’s in Tattoo Balm?

We specifically formulated our new balm to be lightweight and non-greasy, something that would be easy to apply to your tattooed skin while also helping the ink to look bold and vibrant. We included skin softening ingredients such as sunflower oil, fair trade coconut oil, and tamanu oil. Another perk is that the only fragrance comes from the subtle aroma of the pure and gentle essential oils, plant extracts, and emollient butters. Simple, safe, and straight to the point!

Behind the art

With every new Badger product comes the equally important creation of its “medicine art,” or the art on the packaging. For our Tattoo Balm, we realized that a tattoo can be a reflection of an individual’s struggles or triumphs, a reminder of a life-changing experience, or just because. That’s why we were so intentional with the artwork for this new product. It depicts a badger, resolute and fearless, keeping the ship and crew safe during a perilous storm, knowing that a beautiful sunrise and day lay just beyond the horizon. “Kindness is My Compass” – included in the art – is one of Badger’s guiding principles, reminding us that we can overcome any challenge or adversity with grace, passion, humility, and love. Badger Rebecca shares that “the formula and art for our tattoo balm represent both the physical and metaphysical journey we embark upon every day in our quest to feel protected, soothed, centered, and at peace. ”

Whether you are keeping your ink fresh or simply moisturizing parched skin, we’re sure this will become a new Badger favorite!
