Letters from the Navigator: Father’s Day

Father’s Day letter from the Navigator

While constructing the addition to the Badger building we discovered a long-forgotten chest buried deep in the earth. When we opened it we found a treasure trove of letters from our traveling Navigator Badger. There were postmarks from all over the world! Here we share one of the letters we found*.

Dear Son,

It is nearly Father’s Day and I’m camped on the banks of the Beaulieu River. Crossing the Channel in the biplane was rough. And this next mission will be tougher. It’s nice to have a moment of calm to tell you that I am thinking of you, and excited for our reunion.

This leg of the trip had me touring an organic extra virgin olive oil estate in southern Spain, then on to the bergamot farm in Calabria, Italy. Though the exotic Citrus Aurantium Bergamia was beautiful – rows and rows of sunny yellow and orange, basking in the sun – my heart remains stolen by the olive groves. The trees are 150 years old, and have been nurtured and cared for by the same family for seven generations. Rolling hills of organic, ancient trees and the most wonderful olive oil I have ever tasted! I cannot wait to bring you there to see for yourself.

All of this traveling certainly has taken its toll – I hardly recognize my travel weary face in the mirror! So since it is Father’s Day and I’m with you in spirit, I shaved for the first time in weeks. It felt really good! I ran out of After Shave, so I tapped into my flask of Beard Oil you cleverly slipped into my duffel (thank you!) and applied to my whole face. My skin has seen hours of sun, gale, and storm, and was really needing some TLC.

After a day or two of rest, I’ll be continuing my expedition south in search of the prized Argan tree in Morocco. I am hoping to be able to stay in a small cooperative village and work for room and board, while I learn the art of extracting the precious seeds from the center of the argan pod. Wish me luck, as I’ve heard that it’s hot and there are goats in the trees.

I will write you again as soon as I am able. Until then, all my love –

Your dad, the Navigator

You you are The Navigator

  • Hi, there! I’m a long time fan of your products and I hate to bother anyone, but I’m hoping you might eventually bring back the Cheerful Mind balm in tin format. The citrus and mint is such a unique, invigorating combo, and I just really think you get more bang for your buck with the tins than you do with the sticks. Plus, I just find them more attractive, aesthetically speaking. Same goes for your lip balms, but Cheerful Mind is probably my favorite Badger product, so that’s the one I’m choosing to whine about today. 🙂

    Thanks for listening!

    • Hi C.!

Thanks so much for writing us with your thoughts. We’re sorry to hear that you don’t find the stick version of Cheerful Mind Balm as wonderful as the tin, and I’m passing your message along to our product development team for consideration. 🙂

Thanks again, and have a wonderful day!
