“Have Badger, will travel!” This phrase means you have a clever mind, and the skills and equipment to make any trip a breeze. You are a clever Badger. You are the Navigator. You are a Travel Master.
Personally, I love to travel, and I’ve done quite a bit of it throughout my life. Some trips have been smooth sailing. Others… not so much. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that flexibility and an open mind serve me well when I travel. For everything else, there’s Badger!
When I look back on my travelogues from the last few years, I discovered there were a number of “Badger buddies” that always accompany me on trips. So for this post, I thought I’d share my 5 all-time favorite Badger products for flying. All of these recommendations are TSA approved (so you can bring them through security and everything!), and serve a multitude of uses in the air, on the ground— anywhere you happen to be.
1. Stress Soother Mind Balm Stick
I love flying in airplanes and always have. I probably have a zillion pictures of clouds and cities from 35,000 feet. But let’s face it: air travel can get kind of stressful. Airports, security, lines, layovers, delays – all of these things can leave you feeling a little frazzled, and that can zap the fun out of travel really fast. Enter: Stress Soother. This awesome aromatherapy blend doesn’t knock you out. Instead it uses pure steam-distilled essential oils to promote calm courage. And when faced with challenges in travel, what you really need is to stay calm and on top of your game. This helps you to navigate any obstacles that come your way like an agile travel ninja.
I always have this soothing stick within arm’s reach whenever I travel. If I’m feeling a little tense, I just apply it to the inside of my wrists, or sometimes right under my nose. It’s a great moisturizer for any place on your body – just apply it wherever you can smell the aroma. Don’t let a little airport kerfuffle ruin your travel. Rise to the occasion.
2. Sleep Balm
This one’s with me anytime I sleep anywhere but in my own bed. I’m a pretty good sleeper, but living in a rural area I’ve grown accustomed to the quiet when I’m trying to sleep. So sometimes the noise that accompanies hotels, motels, airbnb’s, and even a friend’s guest room can keep me up. I think this little tin even helps me to better adjust to different time zones!
As an added bonus, if your room for the night happens to be a little stinky* you can rub this right under your nose to mask any unfamiliar odors.
*Note: stinky to me is basically anything other than essential oils. This includes industrial cleansers, air fresheners, and things that other people might not find stinky. So I often find hotel rooms – even really nice ones! – “stinky.”
3. Creamy Cocoa Butter Lip Balm
Ever notice that air travel can leave you feeling dried out? I drink as much water as I possibly can, but sometimes dry spots on my skin appear randomly. This was especially bad news when I traveled a lot for Badger. Who wants to talk to a dried-out Badger? Not to mention how bad it looked because I was representing a company that makes moisturizers. D’oh!
My secret ally? A tube of Creamy Cocoa Butter Lip Balm. It’s pretty much straight cocoa butter, and the big tube is great for cuticles, elbows, and just about anywhere else. Pro tip: twist up a little bit of product, and then use the cap to cut off as much as you need for easy application anywhere – even on legs!
4. Anti-Bug Shake & Spray in 2.7 oz
If I’m heading to a destination wedding, or any place where it might be buggy, I toss this little bottle into my zip lock carry-on bag. I know, it may seem a little crazy that I’m the lady who travels with bug spray, but what can I say? It works for me. I usually leave it behind at my destination, with a friend or acquaintance, and buy a new one before my next round of travel. I love to delight strangers who compliment me on the scent, or remark on how well it works. Seriously, it’s really fun just to be able to say, “hey, why don’t you keep it?” Generosity is awesome.
5. Baby Balm
Cuts? Scrapes? Stings? These things also happen when you travel. Baby Balm goes anywhere I do because not only is it remarkably soothing, but it has a ton of calendula extract in it. In fact, if I were forced to travel with only one Badger product, Baby Balm would likely be it. But please don’t ever make me travel with only one Badger product!
